EPD mai ntains its subsidiary, Environmental
Probing & Drilling, LLC (EPD) to support consultant's
needs in soil and groundwater investigations.
Direct Push
The primary drilling service.
Direct Push is the most efficient, effective,
and technically accurate drilling method for many
sites. One advantage of direct
push technology is that soil samples can be collected
at discrete depths via our Dual Tube System. This
system allows cost effective sampling beneath
perched water/saturated soils, sampling in collapsing
soils and ensures that samples are not cross-contaminated
by upper soil zones.

Pre-Dredging Sediment Investigations
Utility Rock Sounding
Hollowstem Augering
Hollowstem auguring services enhance
direct push capabilities and are offered for sites
where direct push cannot solely complete the scope
of work.
EPD staff routinely collects/log
soil/groundwater samples on small, but remote
projects, for our client. This
saves the client valuable staff travel time and
contributes to the overall profitability of the
project. EPD can submit samples to client laboratory
of choice and/or provide turnkey report to our
client.
Site Investigation Field Services
Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I and Phase
II)
Groundwater Monitoring Programs
UST Services
Drilling Rig Geologist
Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring
Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP)
Data Tabulation
Report Generation
Site Surveys
Water well certifications
are held by EPD staff for a variety of states,
ensuring compliance with environmental regulatory
agencies during subsurface investigation activities.
EPD maintains 40-hour HAZWOPER training for all
staff, as well as First Aid/CPR and annual on-going
education. EPD staff also possesses Loss Prevention
System training recognized by multiple petroleum
processing Corporations.
EPD provides $5,000,000 insurance
coverage as a standard rate and can supplement
this on an as needed project basis. Payment/Performance
bonds are available to applicable projects.
Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is
a valuable tool in identifying underground utilities,
buried tanks and other subsurface anomalies. GPR
emits an electromagnetic pulse into the ground
that records echoes and builds an image from the
echoes. Basically, GPS creates a picture of the
subsurface.
Ground Penetrating Radar Applications:
Identify underground storage tanks
Locating pipes, conduits, or other buried utilities
Locate plastic pipe along with other non-metallic
objects
Confirm As Built Drawings
Clear Site Plan for New Construction
Identify Sinkholes, Unmarked cemeteries and grave
locations
Archaeological Studies
Ground Penetrating Radar can detect
objects as deep as 30 to 40 feet. However, it
is best suited for depth up to 15 feet below ground
surface. Penetration depth is dependent on soil
conditions and or surface conditions and the electrical
conductivity of the soil. GPR can be used in variety
of media including concrete, pavement, rock, soil,
ice and fresh water. Link to Soil Suitability
Map for GPR: Ground-Penetrating Radar Soil Suitability
Maps | NRCS Soils
The advantage of GPR is that
it is fast, reliable and is very safe. GPR does
not use any radiation.
EPD can provide this service
individually or in conjunction with Environmental
Subsurface Investigation. Our ability to package
both GPR survey and soil/groundwater sampling
into one (1) mobilization provides timelier project
completion and budget savings to you, our Client.
EPD is able to cost competitively
service all areas of the United States lower 48
and in Canada/Mexico as well. We also offer service
agreements with fixed pricing for repetitive scopes
of work or for large property portfolios.
EPD continually strives to
enhance our turnkey environmental site assessment
field services. Our success is based on building
long-term relations by proving consistent and
cost effective results.
